THE USA TOURING BAND - FALL 2006
Robert Walter - Charlie Hunter - Skerik - Bobby Previte

Robert Walter is the definitive soul-jazz organist of his generation. His latest project, Super Heavy Organ, was recorded in his new hometown of New Orleans. The new release is a collaboration with some of the city's most respected musicians, including drummers Stanton Moore and Johnny Vidacovich, bassist James Singleton, tenor saxophonist Tim Green and guest vocalist Anthony Farrell. Robert Walter has earned international acclaim for his work with the Greyboy All-Stars, who are credited with resurrecting the classic soul-jazz sound for a modern audience, and for pioneering his own group, the 20th Congress.

Charlie Hunter is the world’s leading voice on the instrument he invented— the 8-string guitar that allows him to play guitar and bass parts simultaneously. His resume is too long to list but his brilliant technique and moving musicality has graced the recordings of everyone from D'Angelo to Primus, Hunter enjoys a well-deserved reputation and is signed to Ropeadope Records, who will release two projects: his long awaited DVD debut (which combines solo, quartet and quintet footage) and the debut of the new Charlie Hunter Trio which will be traveling across the globe throughout the balance of the year.
