![]() Food Trilogy Writer: Richard Power Hoffmann I eat food every day, but I usually have no idea where it comes from or how it is grown. My ancestors were farmers, but I can hardly plant anything. Two years ago, my family joined a community supported farm near our home in suburban Philadelphia. “Fridays at the Farm” began as an attempt to document the growth process of vegetables through the use of time-lapse and macro photography. It evolved into a meditation on our budding community, the birth of my daughter, and the miracle of life. "Fridays at the Farm" is part of a trilogy of short films that explore my connection with food. As a fish-eating vegetarian that hasn't eaten a fish I’ve caught myself in 20 years, "To Kill a Fish" will document my vow to stop eating fish if I can't go through with the killing process. The third film, "A Vegetarian Deer Hunt",follows my journey with a good friend on a bow hunting expedition as I consider eating meat for the first time in 15 years. The trilogy will run 54 minutes and will be available in standard and high definition formats. |
