Giovanni LaRosa Giovanni La Rosa graduated from Ursinus College in 1997 with a BA in Politics and International Relations. While attending Ursinus, Giovanni founded Goodie Goodie Productions- an independent entertainment company that produces concerts, film, theater, and the arts. As co-owner/creative director of GGP Giovanni has promoted and produced eleven years of high profile concerts in the Philadelphia region at renowned venues such as the Tweeter Center, Electric Factory, and Festival Pier. GGP also provides creative services, marketing, & media solutions to its corporate partners and clients.
In May of 2006 Giovanni co-created and co-produced the Dancing Wu Li Festival , a two-day arts and music festival on a sprawling 150 acre farm in suburban Philadelphia.
In the theater world, Giovanni co-created and is currently co-producing Brotherly Love, a dance/theater adaptation of the screenplay Brotherly Love. The dance/theater adaptation was awarded a 2006 New Directions Residency Grant through PennPat.
In 2003 Giovanni co-produced the feature film Invisible Mountains -Best Feature at the 2003 DVD Film Festival and 2005 PCA Media Arts Fellowship. Invisible Mountains is now available on www.netflix.com.
Giovanni is the author of the screenplay Burmese Black Tongue (In Development). Inspired by actual events, Burmese Black Tongue is the story of Johnny and Luther- mystical nine year old twins whose ragtag army of Karen youth becomes the symbol of resistance against the oppressive Burmese military.
