Paolo Pilladi
Paolo Pilladi graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he attended Pittsburgh Filmmakers, in 1997. The following year, he returned to Philadelphia to co-found Goodie Goodie Productions, an independent company which produces concerts, film, theatre and the arts.
Paolo produced and co-edited the award-winning feature film Invisible Mountains (2003), which won Best Feature at the 2003 DV Film Festival and a 2005 PCA Media Arts Fellowship. Invisible is currently available on www.netflix.com. In May 2006, Paolo co-founded, directed, and produced The Dancing Wu Li Festival, a two-day arts and music festival on a sprawling, 150 acre farm in suburban Philadelphia. The inaugural festival garnered critical acclaim nationwide as thousands attended the event. Paolo has written two award-winning screenplays, Brotherly Love, an emotional drama revolving around the social and political turmoil of Philadelphia circa 1978; and Pacing, a dark coming-of-age of three twenty-somethings focusing on conspiracy theories and obsessive behavior.
Paolo is currently producing a dance/theatre adaptation of Brotherly Love which was awarded a 2006 New Directions Residency Grant through PennPat. The controversial work-in-progress has appeared on stage in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, in various developmental stages.
Paolo is an actively involved member of PIFVA (Philadelphia Independent Film & Video Association), and served on its Board of Directors from 2001-2005. He lives with his wife, Domenica, in Philadelphia, PA, and Brooklyn, NY.
Brotherly Love marks Paolo’s directorial debut.
