KITSUNÉ - SCION COMPILATION

jp

It's rare for North Americans to get the exclusive dance music release... unless Scion AV is somehow behind it. Their latest label compilation taps the talent of Kitsuné for what Kitsuné does best... 11 remixes from their cutting edge catalog. A lot of the songs are getting their release for the first time here so you're gonna wanna get your dirty little hands on this compilation. For sure.

In just a few years Kitsuné, the multifaceted Franco-Japanese brand, has become the definitive barometer for setting new standards in music, fashion, and beyond. Since Kitsuné's inception in 2001, founders Gildas Loaec and Masaya Kuroki have been responsible in part for breaking many ubiquitous electronic artists through various 12" singles and their Kitsuné Maison compilation series - not to mention turning heads in the fashion world with their own cut-and-sew collections.

"Kitsuné Maison compilations can be seen as a magazine," says Kitsune co-founder Gildas Loaec. "They are selections of the music we like at the time and also a bet on the artists we think might have a nice future. We are proposing a selection for people who love music but maybe don't have the time like us to listen to everything around."

Not content with representing one genre or style of music, Kitsuné excel at the presenting forward-thinking pop music, encapsulating new French sounds as well as their international contemporaries. As Gildas points out, "This is about music, all kinds of music, whether made with guitars or machines, its about attitude, personality, and character."
